District 20 Area 11

Guilford Connecticut Alcoholics Anonymous

Early Riser AA Group Organization

The primary purpose of AA is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to stay sober. The AA group is part of recovery because it provides the AA member with access to others in recovery and can be the entry into AA for a newcomer.

Over its history, the Early Riser AA Group has been loosely organized depending on individual effort at each meeting to sustain the group. It has worked well but as more groups emerge and on-line groups play a role in recovery, having a strong local in-person meeting is a resource for the newcomer.

The present document is a structure based on group conscience for the Early Riser AA Group to offer more opportunity for service and more resources for the newcomer.
